ATX LED Final Checklist
Use this structured checklist for seamless rough-in, trim, and final testing phases:
Phases: 1) Before Sheetrock • 2) After Sheetrock • 3) Before Power-Up
✅ Before Sheetrock
- Test for shorted lines using the ATX LED Home Run tester:
- Red to all other 4 wires: infinite
- Green to all except Red: infinite
- Yellow to all except Red & Green: infinite
- White to Blue: infinite
- Max 5x 660 mA LEDs per DR1/DR2 channel. Use 48v/51v for circuits with 6+ bulbs.
- 51v: Use On/Off switches or SRP dimmer drivers.
- 48v: Use DR2 drivers for peak efficiency.
- Max 96 watts per home run (recommended 90W) to maintain reserve.
- Plan 3-Way switching correctly (N-WAY guide).
- Use Leviton 47605/49605 panels. Pre-wire before sheetrock.
- Ensure AWG 18/2 loop from switch box to max 5 LEDs for future tunable white upgrades.
- Confirm UP/DOWN cable directions are marked in wall boxes.
- Large fixture installs (50+ EX6 or 72+ E12) require dedicated home runs with SRP-2305-75 drivers.
- Pre-wire undercabinet and strip lights with methods to hide wires/drivers.
- Run CAT-6 to internet/router locations and plan exterior door Ring connections.
✅ After Sheetrock
- Confirm switch slider positions with owner (left = AL-WS-DR2, right = AL-WS-DR1).
- No wire nuts required for DR2/lighting connections.
- Color code wires correctly (Red = +51v, Blue = -51v, Green = metal plate, Yellow/White = DA lines).
✅ Before Power-Up
- Re-test all home runs for shorted wiring:
- Red to all: infinite
- Green to all except Red: infinite
- Yellow to all except Red & Green: infinite
- White to Blue: infinite
