DALI CCT Control Methods
DALI DT8 is a set of commands that allow CCT fixtures to occupy one DALI address. This means all brightness controls operate regardless of the color temperature selected. Brightness can be set by broadcast, individually, or in groups simply by the level sent.
CCT is commonly implemented with two strings of LEDs at different color temperatures. Changing the ratio of current changes the perceived color.
CCT can be set individually, in groups, or globally, by time of day or personal preference, locally from the DR2 switch, from the ATX LED Hub with ZWD, or from the cloud.
In Scenes, the color temperature is recorded together with brightness for each scene. Thus, a Scene will potentially change the color temperature, while a Group brightness command will not.
DALI DT8 is detected when the DA bus is scanned, and if detected in a device, that device will have color tuning support in ZWD.
DALI DT8 also allows RGBW controls that operate the same way, with four colors instead of two.
