DALI BUS POWER
The DALI bus is a shared Power and DALI bus. A minimum of 14 volts is recommended for operation, with up to 260 mA allowed. Operation at lower currents is acceptable as long as the voltage does not fall below 14 volts.
DALI devices can be powered by the bus (up to 4 mA each; most devices require less than 2 mA). This allows shared power and data on two wires. Some DALI masters provide power; others do not. Below is a list of power supply options we have tested:
Device Supplying Power | Current Supplied | Disable Power | Max Count of DALI Devices | Max Distance (22 AWG) | Max Distance (18 AWG) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
AL-PWS-8D | 65 mA | Jumper | 32 | 350 ft | 1200 |
AL-DALI-HAT v1 | 65 mA | Jumper | 32 | 350 ft | 1200 |
ATX LED Hub / AL-DALI-HAT v2 3 modes / Auto detect | Off / 80 mA / 220 mA | Software | 40 / 64 | 300 ft / 80 ft | 1000 / 330 |
AL-Struct-12 | 65 mA | Jumper | 32 | 350 ft | 1200 |
RELIV4-16 | 260 mA | No | 64 | 80 ft | 330 |
* Multiple DALI power supplies can be wired in parallel up to 260 mA total. If the RELIV4-16 is used, disable power in the ATX LED product.
Hardware Version Notes:
- AL-WS-DR2 V1 and V2 can only drive 140 mA
- AL-WS-010V needs 6 mA to operate
- AL-DALI-8B multiswitch needs 3 mA + 1 mA per LED active
- AL-DALI-HAT-2I has no power supply built in
