Fan or Ceiling Heater Control
The ATX LED system can power an AC 120V ceiling heater by pairing it with a 12V relay.
The Relay
A DC-to-AC relay mounts to the side of a standard junction box, allowing 120VAC and 12VDC connections to coexist per NEC code.
Wiring
Wire the DR2C/Bath/DR2F fan output to an SPDT switch (“3-way”), routing its two 12V outputs to:
- The positive leg of the 12V DC exhaust fan
- The positive leg of the relay coil
Both negative legs share the common 12V return on the switch. When “fan” is ON, the SPDT selects between fan or heater. The relay then switches 120VAC to the ceiling heater.
Operation
Use the SPDT switch to toggle modes. The selected load (fan or heater) operates exactly like the DR module’s fan output.
