How to Fix the Hub Fan and Replace or Bypass It
The light switches in your home are designed to work without the hub, so you can unplug a hub with a loud fan and all lights will work individually. Schedules come from the hub, and the keypads require a small amount of power from the hub, so complex functions would be disabled, but the house lights will work.
The internet is not required for normal operation—except for sunrise/sunset schedules or time of day. Without internet, the system will eventually be out of sync with real time. The hub also provides the small power needed for the keypads to work (16 volts, current limited to 260 mA).
With the hub unplugged, there are some options:
- Replace the fan – this is simple: disconnect the fan today, then drop in a replacement that we can send you, or you can order one on Amazon (stock number B0792BW2VH).
- Replace the hub and keep a spare for quick swap-out if needed.
